"Da dansa psykiatrien" is taken from the third album by Synnjadrag "Alltid en ny oktober" that was released in the fall of 2010. The album features 13 new songs by norwegian singer/songwriter Susanne Arnesen and is a return to a purely acoustic sound. The focal point of the band is still the nowegian folk tradition - but as always with a twist.

Warrior Horse is the second album by Maria Faust Group. Maria is a young saxophone player and composer, coming from the island of Saaremaa, Estonia. In 2002 she cut short her studies as a classical conductor at the Academy of Music in Tallinn to study jazz at the conservatory of music in Esbjerg, Denmark. The music of Maria Faust is a mixture of many different styles drawing on the legacy of her Estonian roots, rock and jazz with emphasis on the band’s four horns. Her clever compositions have a clear structure and their complexity does not obstruct the underlying romanticism of the music. Through concerts in Estonia and Denmark the orchestra has achieved a language that sounds at one moment like a Russian funeral march and the next like a runaway train heading for the unknown. The challenging compositions of Maria Faust are performed by an orchestra consisting of experienced musicians with plenty of attitude and a desire to experiment.

Adam's bass playing can be heard in several projects spanning the Barefoot artists Trio CrEePy, The Mighty Mouse, Maria Faust Group and Melbye/Berre/Brötzmann as well as Jesper Zeuthen 3, Angel and in duo constellation with Swedish reed player Sture Ericson. His playing is characterized by a sonic diversity that utilizes the many possible ways of making the double bass whisper and scream by using hands, bows, sticks, combs, brushes and whatnot. His tone is dark and percussive, favoring a setup that calls for a quite physical approach to playing.
Don't miss his solo performance at Jazzkælderen on the 5th of july at 18:00 during Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

This podcast episode is a preview from an upcoming release by pianist Morten Pedersen. The release is comprised of two duoprojects. One with drummer/percussionist Lisbeth Diers and one with bassist Thommy Andersson.
The duo format demands that both paticipants are 100% honest and openminded - the result being recordings with great musical presence and a high energy level.
The album will be released in april 2010, but since it's christmas time you can already enjoy this preview from Barefoot Records. You can find more info and music here: http://www.myspace.com/mortenpedersen

The debut album of EstherOrkester "Why we woo" consists of eleven songs, composed by Esther Buchmann, and produced by Ole Storli. The songs were written from early 2000 up until the very fall the album was recorded. Esther writes songs about her own and other's experiences intertwined, some more autobiographical than others. The singer/songwriter style mixed with cabaret and folk/jazz projects a personal sound, and creates delicate moods, playful melodies and small musical stories that are easy to follow and fall for. The vocals and the lyrics are at the core of the songs, carried by a wisely arranged instrumental frame, with guitar and piano as key instruments.

The debut record from Skylight Lounge - “Skylight Lounge”, was released 09.04.09. The CD contains 8 compositions by Michael Dalgas and the music is best described as modern jazz with elements of rock where the mood, melody and energy are the key words. The music reaches out to a wide audience without becoming mainstream and gives a refreshing alternative to most other jazz and rock.
